The two major methods of the judge selection process are that they judges are either appointed for life or they can be elected in a election. Judges that are appointed for life are usually fair, but their decisions could be based upon their own opinions. Judges that are elected are usually elected for a four year term. Judges that are elected usually do not have a law degree and their decisons on cases are based on the media and what the media thinks is the best consequence for the offender. I believe that appointed judges have more knowledge because they have a law degree and they are more experienced. They look to rehabilitate offenders depending on the severity of the crime.
