I do not have a neighbor that had an experience of crime against property, but I have a big sister named Jenn from the big brothers big sisters association who has had her car radio stolen out of her car, along with other victims. Someone decided to break into Jenns vehicle by smashing out one of the windows. This happened in 2005. Her car was parked on a side street in Medford. She realized that this happened late at night. She went to get into her vehicle the next day, not realizing what had happened. She then notified the police and they started an investigation. Unfortunately, the investigators had no luck in finding the person who broke into Jenns car. It left a lot of emotional damage and fear. The car radio was a very expensive one. Whoever had stolen it must have sold it to obtain a large amount of money. Jenn had decided to update her security features on her vehicle. If someone tries to break into it again, she has a program installed with OnStar that will dispatch emergency personell to her car even if she is not present in her vehicle at the time. She also now takes her car radio out of her car and stores it in her home when she is out of her car. This was a really mean thing to do to someone as nice and caring as Jenn. She did not deserve that. Thankfully, material things can be replaced and the situation could have been much worse.
