The impact of a person in jail can be really hard on the entire family if it is a friend or family memeber in jail. The family will have stress because they will have to support the person in jail by having enough money to visit them, send money for canteen, pay for telephone calls, and emotional distraught because you miss that person and you want them home. You have to worry about the safety of the person in jail because it is full of a variety of criminals. The offender that is in prison will feel trapped, loss of freedom, frustrated, and develop mental /or physical illness. They will feel hopeless, sometimes even suicidal because they cannot leave the jail. The inmate will have to listen to all of the guards orders. You may have a single cell or you may have to share a cell. The cell is usually small. The inmate actually becomes a slave to the state.
